Why Choose Spellbound Boudoir?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with cameras (and the people who point them at me…).   If I’m feeling good about myself, a good photo can keep that going, but too many bad ones can destroy that confidence.  If I’m already feeling bad about how I look, bad photos make me feel even worse, but good ones can help me start to feel better.  (More about that on my About page, if you’re interested….)

Maybe you have more self-confidence than I do, and your self-esteem isn’t affected as much by photos—if so, that’s wonderful, and I’m kind of jealous of you for that—or maybe you’re like me and every less-than-flattering photo is kind of like a punch in the gut.  Either way, I’m happy to photograph you—of course!—but if you ARE like me I want to give you a big hug, and then I want to get you in front of my camera PRONTO, so you can start feeling better about yourself right away.

For those of you who LOVE having your picture taken:

You have SO many choices for someone to photograph you!

Seriously, I’d have a hard time choosing, personally—there are so many different photography styles, and editing styles, and I’d want to go play with everyone, just to see what they would do with me. If you’re like me in that way, I hope you DO get to play with a lot of different photographers so you can see how differently everyone sees you. (It’s kind of addictive, really… When I felt good about myself I got my picture taken ALL the time, and went to as many photographers as I could. I still love looking back at those pics and remembering, and I’d be happy to share them with you if you’re curious.)

Anyway, like I said, you have a LOT of choices, so take a look at photos you already have of yourself, and take a look at my galleries. Chances are, my style is a bit different from photos you’ve already had done, and I’d love to play with you and show you a side of yourself that you don’t already have photos of, or maybe just catch some cool angles that you don’t have yet. I have tons of wardrobe to play with, and I have a friend who is part owner of a costume shop, so the sky is pretty much the limit. Call, text, email, or whatever and set up a session with me so we can play!

For those of you who HATE having your picture taken:

First of all: {{{hugs}}}

I’ve been in your shoes so many times—I’m there right now, actually—and I hate it. I hate it for me, and I hate it for you.

You need to know: you don’t actually hate having your picture taken. (Once you’ve seen good photos of yourself, you’ll find out just how much fun getting photos done can be, I promise!) What you hate right now is the way you feel when you see a bad photo of yourself (even when other people tell you it isn’t bad—sometimes especially then…).

There are a couple of reasons this happens:

1) you really don’t like what you see in the mirror, and bad photos just show you all of the things you don’t like about yourself

2) you DO see things you like when you look in the mirror, but you don’t see those things in photos of yourself

Whether YOU see the good things about yourself or not, they ARE there and I WILL capture those things with a camera and show them to you. (I’ve been doing this since 2009 and I have yet to be taken up on my money-back guarantee, if that tells you anything…).

Anyway, if you hate having your picture taken but wish you had some photos of yourself that you love, PLEASE call, text, or email me and set up a session ASAP! You don’t have anything to lose except for that fear of cameras…. 🙂
